The Vice Provost for Student Success has administrative responsibility for the 20 departments and offices that comprise Student Success. With over 900 employees and an additional 1700 student employees, Student Success provides a variety of services and programs to assist students in their academic and personal goals. The Office of the Vice Provost coordinates the development of these services and programs and serves as an advocate for student needs across the University community.

Academic Achievement and Access Center

Provides services and programs designed to enhance student academic success, including individual and group consultation and services for students related to learning and study skills; Tutoring Services; accommodations for students with disabilities; Thematic Learning Communities; and the University's Orientation Seminar (PRE 101) for new students.

Testing Service

Celeste Smith, Assistant Director

Provides information and testing to students on GRE, MCAT and other standardized tests. Works with faculty to score and analyze exams, to conduct surveys, research and other projects using scannable forms.

Nationally accredited facility, open year round, fee subsidies for student families partially funded by Student Senate, preference given to children of KU students. Child care and education for toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarten and school age children. Student employment and research site.

Provides intramurals and informal recreation programs such as weight room, swimming, etc. Coordinates the fitness program that offers non-credit classes for exercise and enjoyment, and oversees the Sports Club Program.
