"The Leadership Minor is one of the most unique and exciting academic opportunities at KU. Not only does it broaden your horizons by meeting people from virtually every walk of life, but it provides a solid base of leadership education through student/teacher interaction and instruction from many high-level University administrators. There is no doubt that, after graduating from the Minor, I will be able to interact successfully in the job market with confidence and integrity."
-- Blake Shuart, Class of 2004
Students interested in leadership in their personal, community, and professional lives now can study leadership processes in an interdisciplinary minor, housed in the Communication Studies Department. The program integrates leadership ideas explored in the classroom with extensive fieldwork.
The 19-credit minor is best suited to students involved in co-curricular leadership activities who want to illuminate what they experience with knowledge gained from investigating leadership principles in breadth and depth. The program will accept only 30 new students each semester because it will involve small seminar classes and more than 150 hours of leadership-related field experience.
