
The Student Involvement and Leadership Center provides leadership education experiences for students as well as a variety of activities, programs, and services designed to assist organizations and augment the academic experience of individual students. Specific program populations include women, men, fraternity and sorority members, non-traditional students, and gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students.
Masters Program Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life (brief description)
Assists with the advising and advocacy of more than 4,000 students in 41 chapters. Helps coordinate educational, cultural, and leadership programming activities of the Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Association, and member chapters. Assists in program development, implementation, and assessment.
Masters Program Assistant for Non-Traditional Student Programs (brief
description)
Provides support and guidance to students on issues relating to needs of non-traditional students. Advises students on issues and concerns relating to personal and educational needs. Offers support services and facilitate collective efforts and co-sponsorship of programs and services within the KU community. Opportunities exist to gain experiences in other Student Involvement programs as well.
Masters Program Assistant for the Emily Taylor Women's Resource Center (brief description)
Assists in the planning and coordination of educational programs and events for the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Assists in providing guidance, information, support and referrals on gender-related issues to students, staff, faculty and university departments. Assists in facilitating workshops/ discussions on topics related to gender.
Masters Program Assistant for Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender (LBGT) Coordinator (brief description)
Provides support and guidance to students on issues relating to needs of the LBGT community. Advises students on issues and concerns relating to personal and educational needs. Serves as an advocate for the concerns of LBGT students. Facilitates communication within the LBGT student communities at KU on issues of common concern and represent these various points of view to the Associate Director of the Student Involvement & Leadership Center.
Masters Program Assistant for Leadership Development Programs (brief description)
Coordinates the planning and implementation of educational leadership programs and events for the Student Involvement and Leadership Center. Assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive, University-wide leadership development program for students. Assists in facilitating workshops/discussions on topics related to leadership development.
