Dr. Jane Tuttle first came to the University of Kansas in 1979. In her position as Assistant to the Vice Provost, she coordinates the parent services program at KU, manages the University's Clery Act compliance, and is chair of the Clery Compliance Committee . A parent of a college student herself, Jane understands the unique parent-student-university relationship. She also serves as a liaison to faculty and staff.
While living in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Jane was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Education leadership at Western Kentucky University. She taught a 3 graduate hour class on educational research methods.
At the University of Kansas Jane
has worked as a Residence Hall Director for a 650 student residence hall; a Research Assistant in the University Information Center, and an Administrative Assistant in the Organizations and Activities Center. She has worked primarily in the areas of policy development and implementation for students and student organizations. Dr. Tuttle is trained as a qualitative researcher.
For five years she was a Contributing Editor for a state-wide newsletter for parents and has given presentations at numerous conferences. Dr. Tuttle has extensive volunteer service with La Leche League International and with the Boy Scouts of America.
Dr. Tuttle received her Ed.D. in higher education administration from the University of Kansas in 1988. She earned a Master of Science in Student Personnel Administration from the State University College at Buffalo in 1979. Her Bachelor of Science is from Ball State University in political science, business education and secondary education.
