Frank DeSalvo came to The University of Kansas in 1991 as director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). In 1999 Assistant Dean of Students was added to his responsibilities. He supervised the operations of the University Career and Employment Services and the office of Services for Students with Disabilities, in addition to directing CAPS. Dr. DeSalvo was appointed Interim Dean of Students in 2005, and assumed responsibility for leadership and supervision of Dean of Students Office personnel and activities. Dr. DeSalvo was named Associate Vice Provost for Student Success in May 2006.
Prior to coming to The University of Kansas, Dr. DeSalvo was director of Counseling and Psychological Services at the University of Arkansas. He served as a Site Visitor for the International Association of Counseling Services for 21 years. He also was the Midwest representative to the University and College Counseling Centers' Board of Accreditation for 6 years. Dr. DeSalvo is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. He is licensed by the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a Specialist Clinical Social Worker. Dr. DeSalvo is an honorary member of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars.
Frank DeSalvo received a Ph.D. in Social Work from The University
of Texas at Austin in 1982, a Master of Science in Social Work from
the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1975 and a Bachelor
of Arts degree from St. Francis College (PA) in 1971.
