Curette (DSH) received the NASPA (student affairs administrators in higher education) Graduate Rising Star, State of Kansas. Linda Dixon (AAAC) for participation in NASPA (student affairs administrators in higher education) Region IV West Mid-Level Institute. Laurence Draper (FSAC) professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences and faculty advisor in the Freshman-Sophomore Advising Center, received the Supportive Advisor Award during the Kansas Academic Advising Network (KAAN) Annual Conference, September 15, 2006. Tammara Durham (FSAC) was pictured in the Emily Taylor Women's Resource Center 2006-2007 KU Women of Distinction calendar. Jamie Ehlinger (SILC) won a National Order of Omega Scholarship and took third place in the Case Study Competition for the annual meeting of the Association of Fraternity Advisors. Lori Reesor (VPSS) was recognized as the James J. Rhatigan Outstanding Dean/Scott Goodnight Nominee award at the NASPA IV-West Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado, November 2006. Laura Remington-Schroeder (DSH) received the Upper Midwest Region - Association of College and University Housing Officers (UMR-ACUHO) Frank J. Traver President's Scholarship. Kathy Rose-Mockry (SILC) was selected to receive the Outstanding Faculty Facilitator Award for Learning Communities. Tina Smith (DSH) was selected as the Employee of the Quarter, December 2006. Gina Starnes (UCC) received an Alumni Meritorious Service Award from the University of Mississippi School of Applied Sciences Department of Legal Studies. Renee Wiesner (OUR) gave a presentation on residency to the Office of Admissions and Scholarships in June. Mandy Zweifel (DSH) received the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) Campus Advisor of the Month Award, August 2006. (DSH) Linda Carter, Wanda Jenicke, Peggy Robinson, and Terry Schulenburg, Campus winners of the NACURH Custodial/Maintenance Worker of the Month, August 2006. (Unions) staff members completing the ServSafe Class and Certification, a safe food handling training program by the National Restaurant Association.
(UCC) Betty Baron announced that KU rose again in the national rankings, for the number of alumni, from schools with 15,000 or more students, currently serving in the Peace Corps. KU has risen from a 25th ranking in 2004 to a rank of 17th in 2007. |
