    • The United States Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Student Success at the University of Kansas for our commitment to a better environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through our implementation of the Technology Conservation Policy, Lawrence, KS, February 2009.

  Community Service Involvement

  • Hagen-Gay, Jennifer (OSFA) Serves as a Big Sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program, July 2007 - present.
  • James, Gail (AAAC) Served as the Women's Intercultural Network Delegate to the United Nations Non-Governmental Organizations Conference, New York, NY, March 2009.
  • Office of Student Financial Aid Team (OSFA) Through various fundraising efforts the OSFA staff members, with the leadership of Jeremy Early, Clinton Everhart, Jenny Hagen-Gay, and Sara Vancil, have raised over $1,660 for the following community services: Gudici House; Susan G. Komen for the Cure; Angel Tree; Rhett's Syndrome; and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, September 2008 to present.
  • Palmer, Peggy (SSTS) Serves as Treasurer for the Woman's Kansas Day Club, which is part of the State Historical Society, 2005 - present.
  • Porras, Precious (OMS) Serves as a volunteer for the Hills Bark Park, an off-leash dog park in Topeka, working with publicity and membership services, September 2008 - present.
  • Student Involvement & Leadership Center Team (SILC) Adopted a family for the Holiday season, December 2008.
  • Tuttle, Jane (VPSS) In March 2009, Jane celebrated 23 years of service as a volunteer La Leche League Leader, helping local mothers to breastfeed their babies.

  • Argueta, Pat (OUR) Passed her final essay for a Masters in Public Administration degree, March 2009. The Hooding Banquet will be in April 2009.
  • Durham, Tammara (UAC) Completion of defense and earned her Ed.D., University of Kansas, January 2009.
  • Farran, Paul (SSTS) Passed his final essay for a Masters in Public Administration degree, March 2009. The Hooding Banquet will be in April 2009.

  Fond Farewells

  • Carter, Glenda (formerly SIS) Assistant Director of Student Information Systems, retired March 20, 2009. Glenda will be spending time with her husband, John (who is also retiring), traveling, and relaxing.
  • Nunez, Santos (formerly OMA) Program Director, Multicultural Resource Center, last day December 19, 2008. Santos is now the Director of Multicultural Student Affairs at Iowa State.
  • Wilbur, Patrick (OSFA) KUEA Scholarship Coordinator, leaves KU to work with Computerized Assessments & Learning (CAL), April 2009.
