"Thinking about completing your undergraduate degree?"

A panel of colleagues from throughout Student Success representing various undergraduate majors and degree programs at KU will share their experiences and provide information on resources for tuition assistance and attending classes while maintaining work, family and community obligations.

*Note: Similar panels will be offered in the fall semester for those of us considering going back to school to pursue Masters and Doctoral degrees.

"So you want to be a supervisor . . . what does that mean?"

 Presenters:
 Terry Proctor, Professional & Organizational Effectiveness Specialist, HREO
 Lori Reesor, Associate Vice Provost for Student Success

If you are a new supervisor or think you might want to be a supervisor in the future, this session is for you. We'll disucss the role of the supervisor, skills that are needed, and what a typical day might be like for a supervisor. You'll also gain insight into your personal supervisory style.

Note: This session is designed to be an introduction to supervision. The Student Success Professional Development Committee in conjunction with HREO will offer sessions in Fall 2008 that are designed to enhance the skills of supervisors.

"Workshops at a Glance" (Available presentation materials included.)

This one day mini-conference developed for all Student Success staff (University Support Staff, Unclassified Staff and Graduate Students), will be an opportunity to showcase our individual research, knowledge of current trends, knowledge of issues for university staff, or issues in higher education, as well as to learn from our colleagues.

Registration is needed in order to get a sense of handouts and materials needed. Attendees can attend all or part of the day. If you plan to attend, please send your name, office and phone number to Kristin Scott, Academic Achievement & Access Center, ksscott@ku.edu, 4-4064, by January 18th. Also include in this RSVP if you would be willing to volunteer to assist at the event.
